Dear Scouts and Scouters,

Your Troop is invited to attend the Mohawk District Spring Camporee on April 21-23, 2023, at Ed Bryant Scout Reservation.   

The theme for this Camporee will be “Leave No Trace.” 

This event is being planned as a 2-night low impact camporee for Scouts BSA Troops (Sorry - NO Cub Scouts or Webelos) with two options for your Troop. 

Option 1 – Leave the Troop trailer behind (at least leave it in the parking lot) and practice lightweight backpacking principles.  All patrol equipment and personal gear should be packed in and packed back out. Choose your meals as if you were on the third day of a 50-miler backpack trip. Use your “Leave No Trace” camping skills so that others who come after you never know you were there.  Interested Troops will be allowed to change campsites on Saturday and relocate to another part of the camp.  

Option 2 – Go ahead and plan on bringing the Troop Trailer and setting up your campsite for the camporee but still focus on Leave No Trace principles and minimize your footprint while your Scouts attend the training sessions on Saturday.  

Events and training topics are still being finalized, but I’m sure your Troop will have a good time.
