Because of low registrations we have not met the minimum number of prticiants to host a viable event. We have made the decision at this time to honor commitments to the host venue Granite Ridge School and to be sure that volulunteers are noified. The units with paid registrations will be recieving a refund.

Yahara Pinewood Open

This event is open to all members of the of the Scouting family so grab that new car or dig an old one out from storage and join us for a fun day at the Pinewood Track.

The Yahara District Pinewood Open is a chance to race other Scouts, challenge your parent or leader or just test your car. Car owners will complete in either the Cub Scout Division (Lion, Tiger, Wolf, bear, Webelos and AOL) or Open (Scouts BSA, Venture, Parent, and Scouters). Check-in begins at 10:00 and will continue until 11:00. Racing will start at 10:30. The goal of this event is to give Scouts a chance to run their cars either as a test before a Pack Pinewood Derby or as an additional opportunity to run their car. Registration fee is $5 per car.

Race heats will be set up by Division, Cub Scout or Open on first arrived, first scheduled basis without regard to rank. Every car will have at least two runs. While the heats will be mixed ranks, the best time for each car will be tracked by Scout rank. Overall results will be posted by Scout Rank on the Yahara District Facebook page following the event. All Cub Scouts will receive a participation award at the event and the top finishers in each Scout rank will receive recognition and an award after results are posted.
