Show and Scout Camporee 

* Registration opens: March 1, 2020 *

Scouts BSA troops are invited to Canaan Valley! Overnight camping on Friday and Saturday nights. Troops will sign-up to do a Scouting skill display on Saturday afternoon. One of the purposes of this location and event is to entice youth in the area to learn more about Scouting. 

Note: campfire will be at a central location. No individual campfires are permitted.

Off-the-ground fire pits are permitted for charcoal only.

We can not scorch the ground, per Canaan Valley.  

When: Friday, May 29 - Sunday, May 31, 2020

Where: Canaan Valley Resort,  230 Main Lodge Rd, Davis, WV 26260

Cost: $15 per person (includes Friday and Saturday night tent camping. Price is for Scouts and leaders)

Price includes: event patch, camping fees, Saturday night cracker barrel

Schedule: 

Friday, May 29:

6:00 - 9:30 pm: Registration. Follow signs to registration and camping. 

Tent camping. No formal program. 

Saturday, May 30:

9:00 - 10:00 am: Registration. Follow signs to registration and camping. 

Morning: free time to explore the area 

1:00 - 4:00 pm: Scout skill demonstrations. All troops will sign up (via this registration) to demonstrate a skill to other Scouts, as well as to interested youth from the area. The demonstrations will be judged. The winning troop will receive a FREE zipline ticket for Camp Mountaineer summer camp 2020! 

6:00 pm: Optional dutch oven dessert cook-off! Troops who wish to enter the dutch oven dessert cook-off should be prepared to serve their dessert in their campsite beginning at 6:00 pm. Judges will visit each campsite. Off-the-ground fire pits are permitted for charcoal only. We can not scorch the ground, per Canaan Valley.  The winning troop will receive a  Cast Iron Cook-off Trophy! 

8:00 pm: Campfire program. Troops should be prepared with a song or skit. 

Following the campfire program, troops will join together for a cracker barrel. 

Sunday, May 31:

10:00 am: Check-out
