SCOUTSGIVING WEEKEND
Camp Mountaineer | Nov 14-16, 2025
Celebrate the season with Scoutsgiving—a weekend of camping, cooking, and camaraderie. Scouts will enjoy hands-on cooking demos, friendly competitions, and a shared feast that brings everyone together. Whether you're a seasoned camp chef or just here for the s’mores, there’s something for everyone. It’s the perfect blend of gratitude, outdoor adventure, and scout spirit. Come hungry, leave inspired!
WHO: Scout Troops and Crews
WHEN: November 14 - 16, 2025
- Nov 14:
- Check-In: 5PM - 7 PM | Welcome Center
- Leader Cracker Barrel: 8 PM | Dining Hall
- Check-In: 5PM - 7 PM | Welcome Center
- Nov 15:
- Outdoor cooking demonstrations/rotations include: primitative cooking, trash can turkeys, wild game, smoking meats, Dutch oven cooking and more!
- Scoutsgiving Dinner: Units will prepare dish(es) to enter into the Scoutsgiving Dinner competition and to share with all units. A main dish will be provided by Camp Mountaineer.

COST:
- Campsite or cabin rental fee only (click here to reserve your campsite or cabin)
- All meals are the responsibility of the unit in their campsites.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
- Scoutsgiving Competition Dinner:
- A main dish will be provided by Camp Mountaineer.
- Troops may prepare one side dish and one dessert per every 10 attending from their Troop.
- (If your Troop has 9 total people attending, prepare one side dish and one dessert. If your Troop has 15 total people attending, prepare two side dishes and two desserts, etc.)
- Only one side dish and one dessert from each unit will be judged. You choose which one!
- Dishes will be judged on taste and originality.
- BRING A SERVING UTENSIL FOR YOUR DUTCH OVENS
- Saturday Demonstrations:
- Your Troop schedule will be provided at Friday night leader meeting. As Scouts will be eating/sampling food all morning, there is not a scheduled lunch rotation. Scouts are welcome to pack a lunch in their daypack to eat at their convenience.
- NOTE: Scouts should bring a mess kit for the rotations! A Scout is environmentally friendly!
