Scoutsgiving Weekend 

WHO: Scout Troops and Crews
WHEN: November 10 - 12, 2023 
WHERE: Camp Mountaineer 
COST: campsite or cabin rental fee only. All meals are the responsibility of the unit in their campsites.

(the Troop with the largest donation per person in attendance will eat first on Saturday night!)

Saturday dinner details are below.


NOTE: SHOWER HOUSES WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE THIS WEEKEND.
Latrines are available as well as restrooms in the Dining Hall. 

Friday, November 10 
Check-in 5:00PM - 7:30PM at Welcome Center 
8:00PM Leaders' Meeting and Cracker Barrel in Dining Hall 

(unit leader and senior patrol leader) 


Saturday, November 11
Outdoor cooking demonstrations/rotations include: primitative cooking, wild game, smoking meats, Dutch oven cooking and a Camp Mountaineer service project. Your Troop schedule will be provided at Friday night Cracker Barrel. 

NOTE: Scouts should bring a mess kit for the rotations! A Scout is environmentally friendly! 

7:30: flag ceremony in parade field. Class A. 
8:00 - 8:50: rotation 1
9:00 - 9:50: rotation 2
10:00 - 10:50: rotation 3
11:00 - 11:50: rotation 4
12:00 - 12:50: lunch in your campsite
1:00 - 1:50: rotation 5
2:00 - 5:30: Troop time / dinner prep
5:30: dishes due to dining hall for judging
5:45: flag ceremony in parade field 
6:00: Scoutsgiving dinner in dining hall 
(see below for dinner details) 
7:00: campfire with skits (including flag retirement ceremony) at Council ring


Sunday, November 12 
Check-out by 10AM 

Scoutsgiving Competition Dinner Details: 
A main dish will be provided by Camp Mountaineer. 
Troops should prepare one side dish and one dessert per every 10 attending from their Troop.
(If your Troop has 9 total people attending, prepare one side dish and one dessert. 
If your Troop has 15 total people attending, prepare two side dishes and two desserts, etc.)

Only one side dish and one dessert from each unit will be judged. You choose which one! 
Dishes will be judged on taste, presentation and originality.
