2020 - 2021 Program Kickoff 

Providing a quality, year-round Scouting program should be the goal of every Scouting unit. The 2020 - 2021 Mountaineer Area Council Program Kickoff will provide this year’s program calendar as well as share a number of recent updates, resources and events, and provide information that will help your unit to be successful!

*UPDATE:  To maintain the safety of our volunteers and adhere to current state and county standards, the kickoff will be done virtually with two sessions.  Volunteers can register for either session, but are encouraged to attend the session for their district (Heart of WV or Cheat).  Each session does have a capacity limitation.  Session login information will be sent Saturday morning to those registered.*

• 3 PM - Cheat District
• 5 PM - Heart of WV District

Council volunteers from each area below will give a brief presentation.  Following the presentations, there will be time for general questions and answers.  Unit-specific questions can be addressed offline if needed.

* Fall membership: including the new BSA fee increase. What does this mean for YOUR unit?

* Development: why is this important for YOUR unit?  How the fall popcorn sale benefits YOUR unit?

* Recharter information: what do YOU need to know? And when?

* Camping: 2021 summer camp schedule, staying at Camp Mountaineer throughout the year

* Training and Advancement: why should units use Scoutbook? What is the Eagle Board of Review Process? Annual Council Recognition Dinner information, 2021 Wood Badge at Camp Mountaineer

* 2021 Program Calendar: what is happening this year? When is your district's Spring camporee? When is your district's Pinewood Derby?
