Level 1/2 Foundation Ropes

Basic introduction and foundation of ropes work.  This is the first course that provides training appropriate to meet current NCAP standards for staffing ropes programs (COPE and Climbing).

Training will cover:

• Basic knots
• Artificial Structure Rigging
• Inspection of Structure
• Introduction to Natural Rock rigging
• Basic Administrative Procedures
• Emergency Procedures
• Universal Access
• Basic Maintenance
• Facilitation and Processing of Groups
• Belay and Spotting Techniques
• Dealing with Fear

Date & Time:  Friday, April 19, 6 PM - Sunday, April 21, 4 PM

Cost:  $40 ($30 if paid by March 22)
(includes course materials, food, campsite for overnight stay)
registration closes Friday, April 12

Prequisites: 

• must be at least age 16
• must be currently registered in the BSA
• must bring a current BSA Annual Health & Medical Record (Parts A & B)
