WHO: Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA 

WHEN: Saturday, December 9, 2023

• Cub Scout hikes will depart every hour beginning at 9:30 AM.
• Scouts BSA hikes will depart at 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM. 
• Scouts are encouraged to sign-up for the same departure time as others from their unit.

COST: $10 per youth participant

REGISTRATION: Open until Friday, December 1, 2023

Cub Scout Adventure Hike

The Cub Scout Adventure Hike will be a hike to help Jack find the lost holiday doors from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Unit leaders or parents will lead Scouts around camp armed with a map of potential locations of the lost doors to match on handouts.

With the help of an adult leader or parent, Cub Scouts may be able to complete:

• Tigers - Tigers in the Wild: 2, 3c, a
• Wolves - Paws on the Path: 5, 6
• Bears - Fur, Feathers, and Ferns: 1
• Webelos - Webelos Walkabout: 4, 6, 7, 8

Cub Scouts should bring their 6 essentials.

Scouts BSA Hike

The Scouts BSA Hike will take a hike with some orienteering aspects thrown in. 

With the help of their unit leaders, Scouts should be able to complete the following requirements:

• Tenderfoot 5a-c
• Second Class 3 a-d and 4
• First Class 4a, 5a

Maps will be provided for both hikes.

Scouts BSA should bring their ten essentials.

Both hikes will conclude at the Dining Hall Pavilion where there will be a presentation from the American Chestnut Foundation including:
chestnuts roasting over an open fire, hot chocolate, and snacks.
The Trading post will be open for those last-minute scouting holiday gifts.

Pre-registration for specific time slots is required.
Scouts are responsible for bringing Medical Forms A & B.
Space is limited on each hiking group departure time.
Post-hike activities end at 5:00 p.m.
