On Flag Day, June 14, Mountaineer Area Council is offering an opportunity for individuals and units to join us at Camp Mountaineer to learn about flag etiquette, appropriate ways to conduct a flag raising and lowering ceremony as well as one of the ways to properly retire a US flag. The goal is to provide hands-on training so units can feel comfortable conducting their own flag ceremonies and flag retirements. 

The flag retirement ceremony will be hosted by the Westover VFW Post 9916.


 

Who:  Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, and adults (participate as an individual, or invite your unit to attend together) 

When Monday, June 14, 2021 (Flag Day) 

  • 7:00PM

Where: Camp Mountaineer Parade Field, followed by Council Ring. 

  • Parking is available at the Dining Hall and Trading Post. 

Cost: There is no cost to attend this event. 

Notes:

  • Field uniform ("class A") is appropriate. 

  • Please bring any US flags that may need retired.
