Let's celebrate Scouting! JOTA and JOTI are FREE events open to all levels of Scouts.

Jamboree-on-the-Air
Handicraft Pavilion:
Voice communication over shortwave.  We will chat with Scouts and Scouters wherever the shortwave signals are going today.  Radio direction finding will give Scouts the opportunity to help us locate hidden transmitters around camp.  For Scouts BSA working on the NOVA award we will work with calculators.

Dining Hall Pavilion:
We will use Internet-linked radios to chat with Scouts from around the world.  We will also try digital computer-to-computer shortwave communications.  We will also experiment with communications over string and learn some words in foreign languages toward the International Spirit Award.

Jamboree-on-the-Internet
Hott Building:
Jamboree-on-the-Internet, or JOTI, is an annual international Scouting event sponsored by the World Organization of the Scout Movement. Each year, during the third weekend in October, Scouts from around the world gather online to learn about other cultures and the activities in which other Scouts participate. They communicate with each other using Internet-enabled devices such as computers, laptops, tablets, and mobile phones. Last year, JOTA-JOTI had over 1.5 million Scouts and leaders participate in more than 160 countries!

During various timeslots throughout the day, Scouts will have the opportunity to speak to Scouts and Scouters from various countries throughout the world--right from the Hott Building!
