REMINDER: Scouts must have prior approval from their Scoutmaster before pursuing a merit badge opportunity.

PREREQUISITES:
6a. Draw a home fire-escape plan, create a home fire-drill schedule, and conduct a home fire drill.
12. Determine if smoke detectors are required in all dwellings within your municipality. If so, explain which specific types are required. Tell your counselor what type of smoke detectors your house has or needs
13. Choose a fire safety-related career that interests you and describe the level of education required and responsibilities of a person in that position. Tell why this position interests you.
NOTES:
- Scouts should bring: documentation of any prerequisite completion and a copy of the merit badge pamphlet, pen/pencil, lunch and bottled water, mask.
- Dress is Scouts BSA field uniform.
- In following with youth protection guidelines, merit badge counselors will have at least one other adult present.
- One week following the merit badge class, Scout advancement records will be available electronically using the registration confirmation email.
