WINTER ADVENTURE HIKES

Camp Mountaineer   |   December 12, 2026

Get ready for a frosty adventure that’s equal parts fun and fulfilling! Join us at Camp Mountaineer for winter hikes available for all ages. Whether you are currently a Scout, interested in Scouting America, or just want to enjoy the outdoors, come join us for this fun themed winter hike.

Take an adventure with Rudolph and his friends but watch out for Bumble the yeti lurking in the shadows as you hike your way through the frosty woods of Camp Mountaineer. You’ll use your navigation and geocaching skills to move through camp experiencing the fun of Rudolph’s flight school, the island of misfit toys, mining for gold and silver then hopefully being reunited with Santa and all his workshop’s goodies!

Grades K-5 will explore the forest on a hike inspired by the playful spirit of Rudolph and his friends.

Grades 6-12 can challenge themselves with a 5-mile winter hike through Camp and explore the nature and beauty of a winter wonderland! Bring your compasses and navigation skills to make your way through the edges of camp.

Activities include a custom ornament, demonstration from the American Chestnut Foundation, games, hot chocolate and snacks. And don't forget to check out the Trading Post for some great outdoor holiday gifts.
