WINTER ADVENTURE HIKES

Get ready for a frosty adventure that’s equal parts fun and fulfilling! Join us at Camp Mountaineer for winter hikes available for all ages. Whether you are currently a Scout, interested in Scouting America, or just want to enjoy the outdoors, come join us for this fun themed winter hike.

Grades K-5 will explore the forest on a hike inspired by the playful spirit of Bluey and Friends. 

Grades 6-12 can challenge themselves with a 5-mile winter hike through Camp. 
 

Activities include a custom ornament, demonstration from the American Chestnut Foundation, games, hot chocolate and snacks.  And don't forget to check out the Trading Post for some great outdoor holiday gifts.

WHO: Open to current Scouts and the Community.  All ages are welcome!

WHEN: Saturday, December 13, 2025

• Grades K-5: Sessions start at 10 AM and continue hourly until 2 PM.
  • Hikes are self-paced and take between 1 - 2 hours to complete.
     
• Grades 6-12: Hike starts at 9:30 AM
  • These longer hikes are intended to last about 3 hours.
  • Bring your "ten essentials".

WHERE: Camp Mountaineer

• Address: 187 Camp Mountaineer Rd  |  Morgantown, WV
• All hikes will start at the Cub Scout Pavilion / Upper Parking Lot

COST: $10

• Includes a custom ornament for each youth, snacks, demonstrations and activities after the hike.
• Additional ornaments can be purchased for $3 each.
   

REGISTRATION CLOSES: December 6, 2025

• Space is limited on each hiking group departure time
