Cub Scout Adventure Hike
Scouts BSA Orienteering Hike 
 

WHO: Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA 

WHEN: Saturday, December 14, 2024

• Cub Scout hikes will depart every hour beginning at 9:00 AM.
  • Cub Scout Hikes are self-paced and take between 2 and 3 hours.
• Scouts BSA hikes will depart at 9:30 AM and 1:30 PM. 
  • Scouts BSA Hikes are intended to last about 3 hours.
• Scouts are encouraged to sign up for the same departure time as others from their unit.

COST: 

$10 per youth participant (each participant will receive a custom ornament)

Additional ornaments can be purchased with your registration for $3.
 

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Friday, December 6, 2024

WALK-INS:     The ONLY times Cub Scouts are starting are

10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 1:00 p.m.

The ONLY time Scouts BSA are starting is 9:30 a.m.

Cub Scout Adventure Hike

On the Cub Scout Adventure Hike, scouts will perform tasks to help the Elves help Buddy in his quest to find his dad. Unit leaders or parents will lead Scouts around camp with a map of locations where the elves need help. There will be multiple locations with activities for the scouts to help Buddy.

With the help of an adult leader or parent, Cub Scouts may be able to complete the following adventure requirements:

• Lions - Mountain Lion | All Requirements
• Tigers - Tigers in the Wild | All Requirements
• Wolves - Paws on the Path | All Requirements
• Bears - Bear Habitat | All Requirements
• Webelos - Webelos Walkabout | 1, 3, 6, 7
• AOL - Outdoor Adventurer | 1

Cub Scouts should bring their 6 essentials.

Scouts BSA Hike

The Scouts BSA Hike will take a hike with orienteering aspects based on skills wanted to be covered.

With the help of their unit leaders, Scouts should be able to complete the following requirements:

• Tenderfoot | 5a-c
• Second Class | 3 a-d and 4
• First Class | 4a, 5a

Orienteering maps will be provided.

Scouts BSA should bring their ten essentials.

All hikes conclude at the Dining Hall Pavilion.

There will be a presentation from the American Chestnut Foundation,
chestnuts roasting over an open fire, hot chocolate, and snacks.

The Trading post will be open for those last-minute scouting holiday gifts.

Pre-registration for specific time slots is required.
Scouts/Units are responsible for bringing Medical Forms A & B.
Space is limited on each hiking group departure time.
Post-hike activities end at 3:00 p.m.
