The Klondike Derby is an annual opportunity for Scouts in the Ohio River Valley District to compete against rival sled teams in winter Scouting competitions and survive a weekend of camping activities in the bitter, frozen tundra at Fort Steuben Scout Reservation. Although many teams may leave with their choice of a consolation prize, only one will earn the right to hoist the Klondike Traveling Trophy!

Jan 30:
- Weekend Camping Check-In: 4:00PM – 7:00PM, Dining Hall
- Cracker Barrel: 8:00PM, Dining Hall
Jan 31:
- Event Check-In, Trail Mix Bar: 7:30AM – 8:30AM, Dining Hall
- Flag Raising, Opening Ceremony: 8:50AM, Parade Field
- Derby Morning Block: 9:00AM – 11:50AM, Parade Field
- Lunch: 12:00PM-1:30PM, Cook in campsite
- Derby Afternoon Block: 2:00PM - 4:00PM
- Flag Lowering: 4:50PM, Parade Field
- Dinner: 5:00PM, Dining Hall
- Award Ceremony: 6:00PM, Dining Hall
Feb 1:
- Check-Out: 8:00AM - 11:30AM, Dining Hall

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
Troops are strongly encouraged to participate in winter camping on Friday and/or Saturday night in Main Camp but are not required to compete in the Derby so long as they are checked in by 8:30AM Saturday. Arrow of Light Scouts are welcome to camp with a troop and may choose to either join a Klondike Derby or Iditarod Team.
Meals and food provided are limited to a light Friday night cracker barrel, assorted snacks, and dinner prior to the award ceremony. Troops are expected to provide all meals/ cook in their campsite, including breakfast and lunch on Saturday.
Klondike teams should come prepared with all the materials listed in the Leader’s Guide—materials will not be provided. Come prepared!
