This training provides general knowledge of safe handling of firearms and instructing on a range. Cost includes training materials. Participants must be at least 18 years old and registered members of the Boy Scouts of America. Participants should bring pen, notepad, and BSA Health and Medical Record (Parts A & B). NRA Basic Training for Rifle and Shotgun is a prerequisite for Instructor Training. Acknowledgement is given to the National Rifle Association (NRA).
All firearms and ammunition will be provided. Eye and ear protection will also be provided, but participants can bring their own if desired. Participants are asked to bring a laptop, if possible.
This training will allow adults to assist in BSA range operations as a NRA-certified instructor.
Dates: Friday, September 19, 8 AM - Sunday, September 21, 2 PM
NOTE: A campsite will be available for participants to setup their own tents, or participants may stay in the bunks in the Hott Building. Contact course leadership if you have any questions or concerns.
Cost: $120 (includes course materials, Friday lunch - Sunday lunch, facility fees)
Registration: Registration closes on Friday, August 29.
Prequisites:
- participants must be at least age 18
- participants must be currently registered in the BSA
- participants must bring a current BSA Annual Health & Medical Record (Parts A & B)
- participants must have already completed NRA Basic Training for Rifle and Shotgun
