What is Bushmaster NYLT?
Bushmaster NYLT is a weeklong experience based on the activities of a typical unit during a month of program. The course is a combination of classroom and practical exercises, all taught by a youth staff, modeling the best in leadership skills, using the teaching E.D.G.E. The course is about vision-based team building with a wide variety of fun and challenging activities.
Who May Attend Bushmaster NYLT?
This course is a co-ed course open to Scouts BSA and Venture Crew Members. Scoutmasters and Crew Advisors select, nominate and fill out a unit leader recommendation for the participants who may attend NYLT, sending those who currently or will soon hold key leadership positions in the Unit.
- Must be a registered member of a Scouting unit.
- Must have a current BSA Health and Medical Record form parts A. B, and C.
- Must be at least 13 years old and fall within the maximum age allowance for their program.
- Scouts registered in a Troop must have earned the First Class Rank before attending NYLT.
- Have leader recommendation.
- It is recommended they have at least one year of camping experience. While NYLT is not an outdoor skills course, it is iportant that each participant have basic camping and outdoor cooking experience.
