Resolution Hike & Polar Bear Plunge

Start 2027 with an adventure at Camp Thunderbird!

Kick off the new year in true Scouting style with fresh air, outdoor adventure, and a little bit of courage at the Resolution Hike & Polar Bear Plunge on January 1, 2027, at Camp Thunderbird!

Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturers, Sea Scouts, families, and friends are invited to join us as we welcome the new year together at camp.

Resolution Hike

Start 2027 on the right foot with a New Year’s Day hike around beautiful Camp Thunderbird. Get outside, enjoy the winter scenery, spend time with your Scouting family, and make getting outdoors part of your resolution for the year ahead!

The hike is open to participants of all ages, making it a great way for the entire family to start the new year together.

Polar Bear Plunge

Ready to make your first adventure of 2027 one to remember?

After the hike, brave participants can take the challenge and make a chilly New Year’s Day splash in Summit Lake during our Polar Bear Plunge!

Participation in the plunge is optional. You are welcome to join us for the hike without taking the plunge or cheer on the brave Scouts, leaders, and family members who decide to take the challenge!
