Leave No Trace (LNT) Instructor 1 Course

Discover the skills to become a certified Leave No Trace trainer and empower others to protect the outdoors!
Dates & Times: March 1-2
8:00 AM Saturday to 1:00 PM Sunday
Who Can Attend:
- Level 1 Instructor Course- Must be 18 or older to teach LNT to Scouting units.
- Skills Course- Youth aged 14-17 can complete this training to strengthen their role as LNT Troop Guides.
Program Highlights:
- Master strategies for outdoor adventures with minimal environmental impact.
- Learn how to plan outings that minimize animal interaction and environmental disruption.
- Move beyond LNT Awareness training to deepen your understanding and influence.
- Gain the skills to teach the Outdoor Awareness Award and train your own units.
- Assist in future LNT Trainer courses to further the mission of Leave No Trace.
Hands-On Experiences Include:
- Digging a proper cat hole and learning its significance.
- Exploring conservation opportunities and their connection to Scouting values.
- Engaging with nearly 30 hours of immersive training to ensure you leave a lasting, positive impact on nature—and teach others to do the same!
