Cub Scout Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) Training
What's in Store?
Get ready for a 1-1/2 day camping extravaganza filled with fun and educational experiences. Our aim is to equip Pack leaders with the skills and knowledge they need to plan and execute fantastic outdoor adventures for Cub Scouts.
Why Should You Be There?
Our BALOO training sessions offer hands-on demonstrations on all aspects of Cub Scout camping, including planning, equipment, fire safety, cooking with stoves and lanterns, first aid, nature hikes, games, meal preparation, selecting and setting up an overnight campsite, and an exciting evening campfire program. Plus, here's a must-know: Having at least one BALOO-trained leader is a requirement for any Pack overnight event.

- Check-in: 8:00 a.m. on Saturday
- Check-out: 12:00 p.m. on Sunday

How to Get Ready:
Before attending, be sure to complete the online component available 24/7 at your my.scouting.org on the BSA Learn Center. This online module covers introductory and basic information that will be expanded upon during the practical training. You can access this training through your my.scouting.org training account. Need directions? Once logged in to your my.scouting.org account, go to My Dashboard, then My Training, then Training Center, then Expanded Learning (which includes Hazardous Weather), and finally, BALOO. Please ensure you complete all the BALOO Prerequisite Training modules before arriving at camp.
What to Bring:
- Yourself
- Camping gear, including eating utensils
- Your online prerequisite training certificate
- Your BSA Annual Health and Medical Form, Parts A and B only.
Registration Fee:
Please note that there is a registration fee which covers the cost of food, materials, and facilities.
Registration Fee before April 19, 2024 - $30
Registration Fee after April 19, 2024 - $40

Pacific Harbors Council - Cancellation Policy
All cancellations and/or refund requests for activities should be submitted in writing to the Creighton Scout Service Center at 4802 South 19th St., Tacoma, WA 98405, or emailed to PHC@scouting.org within 72 hours after the event. The council is the final decision authority for all refunds.
