IOLS Training

Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills (IOLS) 

IOLS is the required outdoor training for Scoutmasters / Asst Scoutmasters and recommended for Venturing Advisors / Associate Venturing Advisors. The skills taught are based on the outdoor skills found in The Scouts BSA Handbook [for Boys or Girls] and focuses on skills that build confidence and competence in leaders conducting outdoor camping experiences. NOTE: This is an overnight training!

 

 

LOCATION: Cowles Scout Reservation

When: April 20, 2024 8am- April 21, 2024 11am

IOLS will take place at Cowles Scout Reservation. Bring a sack lunch for Saturday. Dinner Saturday and Breakfast Sunday is included.

What to Bring – see the Personal Camping Gear Checklist in the SCOUTS BSA HANDBOOK [Chapter 9 Camping]
Cost: The registration fee is $35 and covers training materials and food. Participants will be formed into patrols on site.
Overnight camping is part of the instruction and course. Participants MUST attend the entire course to successfully complete the training.
