Camping:
Camping is welcome for all families but is not required. If you wish to camp with your family and/or your unit, please include that information in the appropriate section in your registration. We will do our best to ensure that all families from the same units are placed in the same campsites.
It can get quite cold at night at Camp Grizzly but it's not too cold for camping yet! You will want to ensure you have warm clothes, a change of warm clothes for sleeping. Too many layers can actually make you colder because too many layers will squish the airspace that holds your warm air around you! A warm hat can make all the difference in comfy sleeping as can wearing your special fuzzy socks! If your sleeping bag is not rated for cold temperatures, we recommend bringing an extra blanket to help you stay warm. Definately remember your sleeping pad: insulation under you is just as important as over you for staying warm on a cold weather trip.
You will need a tent: the canvas summer camp tents will be packed away for the winter. Each Cub Scout family may tent together. Multiple children of the same gender and within 2 years of age may share a tent if they are not family. Adirondak bunks are available in all campsites but Lower Lakeside. Adirondaks should be single gender youth or adults and sleep 8. Adirondaks are great for Webelos and AOLs! With a sleeping pad and warm sleeping bag/blankets, most folks are just as comfy in an adirondak as in a tent.
