What is it?
Are you a new or experienced Cub Scout leader who wants to plan and carry out an exciting outdoor experience for your Cub Scout pack, but you have limited camping experience? Then this course is for you!

BALOO — Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation — will help you understand the focus of the Cub Scout outdoor program, develop the skills needed to plan and conduct a successful overnight activity, and become familiar with the resources available to help you along the way.

Prerequisite: Online BALOO Training must be completed prior to the in-person course. You can find it through your my.scouting.org account. After logging in, click Menu → My Training → Cub Scouts → Catalog, then scroll down to find the BALOO course. It takes approximately 45 minutes to complete.

All attendees must also have current Safeguarding Youth Training (SYT) prior to attending this course.

Who?
Any and all Cub Scout leaders! Scouting America policy requires that at least one BALOO-trained adult leader be present on a Pack overnight camping experience.
