Wilderness First Aid

In Scouting, being prepared means knowing first aid, especially in remote areas. Wilderness first aid (WFA) is vital for backcountry trips, emphasizing assessment skills and improvization when professional help is far away. It significantly impacts emergencies, making a difference between life and death. Even short hikes in the Pacific Northwest can lead far from assistance, making WFA essential, not just for extreme adventures.
Youth must be over 14 to take the course, they must be attending with a parent or guardian, or a designated adult, such as their unit leader. CPR is a requirement to become certified in this course. If you do not already have a CPR certification or will not have it by the time of the course, please sign up for the optional CPR class ($20).
