Summer CAMP Induction

What: Order of the Arrow - Sikhs Mox Lamonti Lodge Summer Induction Weekend

REGISTRATION DEADLINE MONDAY, August 8, 2022.  

Event Check in begins at 7:30pm, Friday and check out between 9 am and 10am on Saturday. Members helping to faciliate the Induction need to arrive and check in at camp between 3-5PM.

This Induction Weekend is returning to the roots of the Order by being conducted DURING a session of Summer Camp. In 1915 the Order of the Arrow was founded as a part of the summer camp program at Treasure Island on the Delaware River. This summer we are excited to return to this heritage of service during summer camp to those candidates who wish to participate and give back to Fire Mountain while also enhancing some of the mystery and excitement for the OA for those scouts who will observe them from a distance as they complete their Induction to the Order.

Candidate Info

The cost of the Induction Weekend is $80, which covers the following: an OA sash, lodge flap, OA pocket emblem, OA handbook, dues for 2022 and 2023.

Arrive at Fire Mountain Scout Camp Thursday night between 7:30 pm and 8:30pm.  Check in will be in the Administration Building in camp.  Dinner will not be providied Thursday evening, please eat before you arrive.  Being ontime is important, as the Ordeal activities start at 9pm.  Parents should plan on picking up their Scouts between 9am and 10am on Saturday.  This induction weekend is a TWO night event, please do not plan on departing before Saturday morning.  

Please bring the following items:

- a completed copy of the BSA Annual Health and Medical Record (link).  

- complete Scout uniform

- sleeping bag

- ground cloth/tarp

- rain gear

- toiletries

- clothes to work in : boots, pants, shirts, jacket, gloves

- change of clean clothes

- flashlight

- water bottle

- watch

Brothers, it is time to show our candidates what it means to provide cheerful service.  Come serve with and stand beside those who will join our Brotherhood, as they start their Induction Adventure. This event is being held DURING Scout Camp so there will be no staff cabins or other houseing options other then staying in a Fire Moutnain Campsite. Be prepared to sleep in a stent or adirondack, bring your sleeping pad and bag just like when you were a camper. There will be limited vehicle access as well so plan on either using a hand cart or hauling any personal gear in on your back.
