Cub Scouts and their families are welcomed to participate in this six week facilitator supported faith journey held at St. Michael Catholic Church in Glen Allen, VA to help them earn their Religious emblem. Two different emblems programs are offered depending on the Scout’s rank.

The Light of Christ emblem is available for Tiger and Wolf Scouts. This emblem helps the Cub Scout develop a personal relationship with Jesus. With the parents' active assistance and participation in this program, it is hoped that the Cub will come to see Jesus as a real person and friend.

The Parvuli Dei emblem is available for Bear, Webelos, and Arrow of Light Scouts. This emblem helps Scouts and their parents explore a wide range of activities in order to discover the presence of God in their daily lives as members of their families and parishes, and also to develop a good, positive self-image through the contributions they can make to the community.

The timeframe allows Scouts to complete the classes prior to the Christmas holiday and have their medals presented at Scout Sunday (February 12, 2023) either at St. Michael or at your home parish. Scouts who complete the emblem will also be recognized at the Diocesan Scout Mass typically held in mid-March.

These emblem programs are intended to be completed with Scouts and parents working together. Parents must attend each session with their Scout. For each registration, make sure to register both the Scout and the participating parent.

• Scouts should wear their field uniform to class.
