Trainer's EDGE helps participants to develop the skills of leaders and trainers. It focuses on
improving the participant’s leadership, communication and training skills. The Trainer’s Edge is the required train-the-trainer course for Wood Badge, Commissioners’ College, NYLT staff and all other BSA training courses. The Course is highly beneficial for all leaders for Packs and Troops. Take advantage of this great opportunity to impact the quality of the programs our youth receive through and well-trained leaders!

What: Trainer’s EDGE prepares leaders and trainers to deliver and to lead exciting and engaging high-impact content and to be more confident and better-prepared presenters in a wide variety of contexts. Content includes: the EDGE method, facilitated discussions, experiential learning, engaging all audience members, virtual training, physical arrangement, creating and using effective PowerPoint presentations, team building, verbal and non-verbal communication, reflection, constructive feedback, and much, much more!
Trainer’s EDGE is an experiential-based learning and sharing experience.
Who: EDGE is required for all District and Council-level trainers, and is highly recommended for all
leaders involved in Packs, Troops, Crews, Posts, Ships, Districts, and Heart of Virginia Council.
When: Saturday, March 29th, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Check-in opens at 7:30 am.
Where: STEM Center at Camp T. Brady Saunders, 1723 Maidens Rd, Maidens, VA 23102
Cost: Free. Bring your own lunch.
Registration: Pre-registration is required-No Walk-ins. Registration closes at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, March 26th.
Why: All youth deserve well-trained and well-prepared leaders. An important aspect of being an effective leader is effective communication with audiences. The goal of this course is to help leaders develop, practice, and hone multiple skills and forms of communication essential to leadership.

Prior to the course, you will be sent a homework assignment with directions on giving your own presentation at the end of the Trainer’s EDGE course, incorporating lessons learned during the course.
