Join Arrohattoc and Crater Districts for a weekend of outdoor activities at the Fall Camporee on October 21-23 at Chesterfield County Fairgrounds. The information for this event and its activities are provided in the attached program guide. The theme of this camporee is "Pirates of the Appomattox". The Pirates we are emulating were more commonly known as "buccaneers", kind of privateers or free sailors particular to the Caribbean Sea during the 17th and 18th centuries. First established on northern Hispaniola as early as 1625, their heyday was from the Restoration in 1660 until about 1688, during a time when governments were not strong enough and did not consistently attempt to suppress them.

These buccaneers or "Brethren of the Coast" were governed by codes of conduct that favored legislative decision-making, hierarchical command authority, individual rights, and equitable division of revenues. The skills needed to be successful buccaneers included knot tying, orienteering, team-work, cooking, balance, and other Scout skills.

Registration closes at 9:00 PM on October 17 - $15 per Scout; $5 per Adult. Walk-in unit registrations will NOT be accepted.
