The Den Chief Training Conference combines fun and enjoyment with an excellent character-building experience. Participants will learn leadership, organization, and most importantly, how to work with Cub Scouts. This training is for youth who are or want to be a Den Chief to a Cub Scout, Webelos to Arrow of Light Den. It is also for registered adult leaders who want to learn the duties and role of Den Chiefs and who will be working with Den Chiefs. We recommend youth be at least First-Class Rank (or close to advancing to 1st Class or similar). Den Chiefs need this training to be considered “trained”.
Who: Youth planning to become Den Chiefs and Cub Scout Den Leaders planning to work with Den Chiefs.
Cost: $12 (covers cost of registration, trained patch, and Den Chief Handbook)
Registration: Preregistration is required, no walk-ins.
What Do You Need to Bring to the Training Session?
All participants will receive a copy of the current version of the Den Chief Handbook. All participants need to bring writing materials to take notes with and a binder or folder to keep handouts from this and other training sessions all in one place. Den Chiefs also will receive a trained patch for their uniforms indicating that they have completed the required training to hold this important position. Prospective Den Chiefs and Den Leaders are recommended to attend together!
