2024 50-Miler
The Richmond 50-Miler is five days of hiking on five different trails in the Richmond area! Each day will consist of roughly 10-miles with conservation service hours along the trail.
Completing all five days of the Richmond 50-Miler will complete 2 requriements for the BSA 50-Miler Award.
"Cover the route of not less than 50 consecutive miles; take aminimum of five consecutive days to complete the trip without the aid of motors for the qualification of the 50-mile distance." (Award requirement)
"During the time on the trail or waterway, complete a minimum of 10 hours each of group work on projects to improve the trail, springs, campsite, portage, or area." (Award requirement)
The following applies to all hikes:
7:30am meet-up
8:00am group hike (length of at least 10 miles)
Two hours of conservation service work
Monday, August 5th – Old Dominion Trail/ Byrd Park
Tuesday, August 6th – Huguenot Flatwater/ Pony Pasture/ The Wetlands
Wednesday, August 7th – James River/ Buttermilk Loop Trail/ Forest Hill Park
Thursday, August 8th – Richmond Slave Trail/ Frederick Douglass Trail/ Bryan park
Friday, August 9th – Virginia Capital Trail
