About This Course:

This course will explore various outdoor spaces near Camp Powhatan and Hiwassee, VA.

Students may need to provide their own transportation to and from each site.

Teaching Topics will be assigned on a first-request basis. Indicate your top 3 choices when you register:

• Plan Ahead and Prepare
• Travel and Camp on Durable Surfaces
• Dispose of Waste Properly
• Leave What You Find
• Minimize Campfire Impacts
• Respect Wildlife
• Be Considerate of Other Visitors
• Environment or Pursuit-Specific topic (Deserts, Waterways, Climbing, etc)

Tuition: $700

Meals: Meals are not included. Plan for lunches and snacks on the trail.

Lodging:

• Car camping   $0.00
• Tent spot  $10.00/night
• Camper spot (small camper)  $10.00/night
• Adirondack  $14/night per person
• Cabin with bath  $75.00/night; 2 people can share a cabin, thus cutting the cost in half.  There are separate bedrooms.
