Webelos/ AOL Summer Camp- '24
The Arrow of Light/ Webelos Long-Term Summer Camp is a 4-day, 3-night program geared specifically for our Arrow-of-Light and Webelos scouts that will help prepare them for their transition into the Scouts BSA program. This event will offer an opportunity to get away from the busy buzz of the city for the weekend and enjoy some time in the great outdoors at Pipsico Scout Reservation.
There will be a variety of activities to include things for nature enthusiasts, marksmen (aspiring marksmen), water lovers, crafty folks, sports fans, and more.
Pipsico is the perfect spot for your family to have a great outdoor adventure. It has 916 acres of land, with a mile of beach on the bank of the James River in Surry County, Virginia. On the beach you can find fossil remains of sharks and whales amongst the shells. It is home to bald eagles, blue herons, wild turkeys and much more. Facilities include an air-conditioned dining hall, a swimming pool (with handicap access), the newly refurbished showers in the pool house, a separate shower house and latrines (for both male and female participants), a fully equipped health lodge, a trading post, shooting ranges and more.
Everyone is encouraged to participate in the camp’s theme during their stay at Pipsico. As you travel through the day’s activities, everyone may participate in swimming, games, and hiking; however, some activities are just for the Cub age participants, such as shooting sports and crafts.
For this year, all meals will be provided and served in the Dining Hall.
