Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills
Outdoor skills are critical to the success of the Scouting program, and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills will provide leaders with the basic outdoor skills information needed to start a program right. Working as patrols, this hands-on course provides adult leaders the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the out-of-doors. Upon completion, leaders should feel comfortable teaching Scouts the basic skills required to obtain the First Class rank.
Every participant should bring writing materials and individual camping equipment as listed in the Scouts BSA Handbook. Please eat or bring dinner on Friday. Breakfast and lunch on Saturday will be provided.
Along with Scoutmaster Specific, this course is required of all direct contact leaders registered in Scout Troops in order to be considered “trained”.
