2023 Albemarle District Fall Camporee
A camporee can be a perfect showplace for the Scouting program and, therefore, go far beyond just being a gathering of youth. A camporee starts with the recognition that a patrol is the basic camping unit. The patrol demonstrates its very best camping techniques and shares its experiences with other patrols. The camporee involves the type of equipment that can be carried in a pack by youth and can be set up entirely by them, allowing them to be completely self-sufficient for a self-reliant experience.
Albemarle District will hold it’s Fall Camporee October 20 – 22, 2023 at Maple Commerce Park in Barco, NC. This year’s theme is "Work Hard, Play Hard" There will be service projects located at places near the camping area. Some transporation assistance will be needed if your troops is able. Lunch will be provided by District staff following all service projects with an afternoon of fun and fellowship. There will be a corn hole tournament, bounce inflatable activities, 9-Hole, chess, and Kubb are just some of the activities. The day will close with a campwide campfire program and crackerbarrel. Bring your favorite crackerbarrel food item to share.
All Tidewater Scouts BSA, Venture Crews, Sea Scout Ships and Posts are welcomed and encouraged to attend. We hope to see you there.
