Albemarle Merit Badge Wknd 2024

Event Details

Merit Badge Weekend 2024

US Coast Guard Station, Elizabeth City, NC November 8, 9 and 10.

Cost: $50.00 per attendee. The event will be limited to the first 175 Scouts.  Check-in starts at 5:00 PM on Friday afternoon. Attendees can only register as a unit-no individual Scouts can attend.

Registration covers: Breakfast, Lunch and dinner Saturday and breakfast and lunch on Sunday. There is also a patch for the event.

Overnight camping will be on the Base at or near the Pavilion area.

Please note, Unit will need to bring potable water on base for use. Also, NO individual Scout registration, all scouts muct be registered with a unit.

Merit Badge instruction will be at various areas around the installation including the Pavilion, the ATTC building, the Fire Station, the Air Station and possible several others. Most of the meals will be served in the Dining Hall.

Merit Badges are offered in sessions. A Saturday AM session: 8:00 till 12:00 Noon, Saturday PM session: 1:00 PM till 5:00 PM and Sunday AM session: 8:00 AM till 12:00 Noon.

Badges that can be taught in one session will be listed as such. Badges that will take more than ne session will be listed by the number of sessions, either 2 or 3, depending on the badge. 

These are some of the Merit Badges that have been offered in the past. Art, Auto Mechanics, Aviation, Baskerty, Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship in the World, Coin Collecting, Collections, Communications, Computers, Cooking, Dentistry, Electricity, Electronics, Emergency Preparedness, Fingerprinting, Fire Safety, First Aid, Genealogy, Leatherwork, Orienteering, Pioneering, Plumbing, Radio, Railroading, Scholarship, Surveying, Traffic Safety and Woodcarving.

A list of the Merit Badges for the year is being compiled and we will continue to work with anyone who may be interested in doing instruction. If you or someone you know is interested in doing a Merit Badge instruction, please have them contact me as soon as possible
