We have an exciting variety of activities to participate in from racing in or cheering for Council Pinewood Derby, Racing a car in our all new Council Outlaw class of pinewood Derby, or spending some time playing games with friends.
Tidewater Council Official Pinewood Derby - Free for those who Qualify
Who can register - Scouts who placed 1, 2, or 3, in their respective rank at one of the four district level races are qualified to register and compete in the Council Race.

Outlaw Derby - $10 Per Entry
Who can register - Parents, guardians, Leaders, siblings, and even friends are all welcome to purchase one of our 75 limited slots in the all new Outlaw Class to compete for one of the Outlaws Bounty Trophies.
Outlaw Derby Rules - Each car must follow all dimension requirements listed in the "Official Class Rules", except for weight. Outlaw cars may weigh a maximum of 7.000 oz by the official race event scale at the time of check-in.
Race Day Schedule April 19, 2026 :
11:00 - 11:20 - Council Official Pinewood Derby Car Inspection Window
11:30 - Council Semifinal Racing Begins
12:30 - Semifinal Awards Presentation
12:45 - Council Finals Begin
1:30 - Final Awards Presentation
1:40 - 2:00 - Outlaw Derby Car Inspection Window
2:15 - Outlaw Derby Racing Begins
3:30 - Outlaw Derby Awards Presentation
Fine Print :
- Racers are expected to be present for their car to race and awards to be presented.
- No cars will be accepted for racing on the day of the race outside of the designated inspection windows.
- Rankings will be determined by average fastest speed and racers of all ranks will compete all at the same time in the Official Race. Top 3 per rank advance to the finals where the fastest in the Council will be determined.
- No Cub supervision is provided by this event or its staff. During this event guardians are expected to maintain supervision over their youth. This is not a "Drop-Off" event for Cubs.
