People Who Moves America 2022
ON BEHALF of the Colonial Virginia Council, Boy Scouts of America, we take great pleasure in inviting you to join us in supporting the 2022 People Who Move America Breakfast to benefit the Scouting Programs in our area.
On December 1st, 2022 we will honor John R. Lawson II. All proceeds from the event will be invested in local youth, by helping fund programs that prepare them for life by teaching them about character, citizenship, and fitness.
The Colonial Virginia Council Council, Boy Scouts of America (BSA) has awarded the People Who Moves America Award to John R. Lawson II. The award is given in recognition of a personʼ s noteworthy personal and/or professional accomplishments, his/her dedication to America and because he/she embodies the ideals of the Scout Oath and Law.
The People Who Moves America award/event promotes awareness of the impact that CVC has on youth in the Hampton Roads areas and raises critical funds to support its programs. CVC is the largest private youth-serving agency in the area, serving 3,000 young people and 1,600 adult leaders in Newport News, Hampton, Williamsburg, York, Poquoson, Gloucester, Matthews, Suffolk, Isle of Wight, Emporia, Brunswick, Southampton, and Franklin.
The lessons our programs teach have an impact not only in the lives of young people, but in our communities as well, and all funds raised from the event will help every young person that wants to be a part of Scouting has the opportunity to do so.
