Join the Historic Triangle District for Jamboree-on-the-Air (JOTA) at Machicomoco State Park!
JOTA is the world's largest Scouting event, connecting Scouts around the world through amateur radio. This event features hands-on radio activities, STEM learning, outdoor adventure, and Scouting fellowship.
Registration Options:
- Saturday Only: $15 per attendee
- Weekend Camping: $25 per attendee
Campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Units must provide expected number of tents when registering.
Parking: Day attendees must pay a $5 fee per vehicle prior to entering the park. Limited parking is available at campsites for overnight guests. Carpooling is strongly encouraged.
Activities include:
- Amateur radio operations and demonstrations
- Morse code, digital modes, and satellite communications
- Radio Direction Finding (Fox Hunt)
- Parks on the Air (POTA)
- Radio Merit Badge & FCC Amateur Radio License opportunities (pre-work required)
- QSL Card & Patch Design Contest
- Service project supporting Machicomoco State Park
- Fishing, hiking, and ranger-led programs
- Campfires, raffles, and Scouting fellowship
