The  Council  is offering an  expedition  to  Philmont  Scout Ranch  from  July 1, 2023 through July  15th, 2023. (Our  dates are  now  confirmed  for our contingent. however  the  travel  time(s)  will  be confirmed, once  our  flight(s)  are  set with  the  airline/van  services). Philmont  is  BSA’s  High Adventure  backpacking base  in the  Sangre  de  Christo  range  of  New  Mexico  in  the  southern Rocky Mountains. Participants  will  backpack  more  than  50  miles  in  the  back country of  New  Mexico, participate  in unique programs and have  a once-in-a-lifetime experience.    Our  contingent is  limited  to  36  youth and  at least 6  adult  leaders so  apply  early.

1.  A full crew is comprised of 12 participants. Participants may be from the same unit or cooperating units. You must be realistic when estimating attendance to avoid unnecessary expense or forfeited fees, and to permit the maximum number of units to make a reservation. Units are responsible for full payment of fees of the number of reservations made for the lottery. 

2.   All crews of the council contingents will consist of 12 participants. The Camping Department reserves the right to rearrange, or add to crews in order to meet the 12 member crew size.

3.  Units that are placed in a council contingent must complete online registration and required deposits by April 15, 2022. Any unit that fails to complete the online registration and payment by April 15th will lose its placement and the next available unit on the waiting list will be contacted. 

4.  Reservations may not be transferred from one unit to another.  Our Council's Camping Department will maintain a waiting list and will contact the next available group in the event of a cancellation.
