Who should attend?
Anyone wanting to learn more about their chainsaw
Anyone who wants to be safer and smarter with their chainsaw
Anyone wishing to use chainsaw on BSA Property or during any BSA associated event/project.
Anyone who has attended prior GMC Chainsaw training sessions and wants to practice their skills
Prerequisites:
Participants must be 18 years of age or older
Participants MUST have a current BSA Training card for Chainsaw Safety 20-136 OR complete the BSA Training Journal for Chainsaw Safety prior to arrival at the workshop. Upon registration students will be given instructions on how to download, print and complete the training journal.
Participants must complete all waivers and medical information forms ("Forms") as required by BSA or the instructor. Participants must review, complete, and sign these Forms prior to participation in the workshop. Completed forms are to be turned in at check-in on the day of the workshop.
NOTE: Participation is contingent upon completion of these forms, as well as successful review and screening of the forms by the instructor or their designee.
Schedule:
06:30 – Check in begins
07:30 – Workshop Begins
17:00 -- Dismissal
The morning will start with class room session to review the topics covered in BSA training program 430-136 along with hands on exploration of saws, tools and other related gear. At a convenient time between 11:00 and 12:30 we will take a 30 minute working lunch break. After that we will proceed to the outdoor exercises. Once the outdoor exercises are finished we will return to the classroom for a final debriefing and dismissal.
Upon successful completion of the workshop participants will be given a certificate of recognition that can be used to validate their participation and demonstration of the skills specified in BSA Training 430-136

Saw and tools, if you have them.
