Long Trail District Roundtable

Event Details

Long Trail District Roundtable: A Quarterly Gathering of Scouting Volunteers
Fellowship - Ideas - A Potluck Meal

Let's come together and build stronger Scouting units for the future!

What is a Volunteer Roundtable?
The District Roundtable is a great opportunity to connect with fellow Scouters, share ideas and information, ask questions, and learn about helpful tools and resources to support your unit.

Bring your questions, ideas, and your favorite dish to share. Let’s enjoy a meal, learn from each other, and help our units grow!

Every meeting has four parts:

Interactive Safety Scenario - an issue or situation with Scouting activities, meetings, or events is laid out in a scenario. Participants discuss how the issue could best be handled, and share information that would prevent future similar scenarios.

Announcements - we try to make these as quick as possible.

Presentation - usually on a timely topic. There may be refresher training, information about something new in the Scouting program, or we could be highlighting tools to help your unit be successful. If there is a topic that you would like to hear about, or if you have information that you would like to present, please let us know so that it may be scheduled in advance.

Roundtable Discussion - talk about the issues and share information. Sometimes the presentation will spawn a discussion about its topic. We typically announce this topic in advance. This is a true "roundtable" discussion in that everyone has an equal say and no one person leads the conversation. This is a good opportunity to share your ideas and concerns about your unit and to hear what others are doing about these same issues.

Who should attend the Roundtable?
Anyone involved in units, programming, or Scouting. Constantly changing and evolving, every Scouter needs to stay updated. Whether you're new and looking to learn about effective Scouting programs, or experienced and eager to share your knowledge with others, this is the place to be. Each unit should send at least one representative to Roundtable for the invaluable information shared.
