THE “GOOD SCOUT” AWARD
Established in 2008, the “Good Scout” Award Dinner brings together civic and business leaders from across Lamoille County to honor distinguished individuals and families from within the community while raising the funds needed to help prepare local young people for life. To date, this event has raised more than $75,000 to benefit local youth.
Recipients are presented with a replica of the iconic 1914 Ideal Boy Scout sculpture by Dr. R. Tait McKenzie which adorns countless Scouting properties across the globe today. This recognition is presented to those who, in their daily life, exemplify the ideals of the Boy Scouts of America as expressed in the Scout Oath and Law. Recipients are chosen for their outstanding community service as evidenced by their leadership to many worthwhile organizations, as well as the respect and esteem in which they are held by their colleagues
