IOLS 2022 – Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills

IOLS – Introduction to Outdoor  Leader Skills is a training course that provides leaders with basic skills and information to run a successful outdoor program.    BSA requires at least 1 IOLS trained leader to be on every Scout overnight.  It is required of all  Scoutmasters and Asst Scoutmasters.   Other Scouts BSA Leaders are welcome to take this training.  Leaders will learn the necessary basic skills in helping scouts work towards earning the First Class rank.  The course will cover fire building, using wood tools, hiking, packing for a  trip, where to set up a tent, map and compass, knots, lashings, cooking,  first aid, and other skills.  

This class will be at Mt Norris Scout Reservation, Eden VT

Starts on Friday, April 29 check-in between 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. and will end on Saturday, April 30 at 5  p.m. 

Leaders will sleep overnight in their tent and get the full camping experience.   

Cost:  Regular $47.00   VT CO-OP $42.00

Registration is limited to 20

No Walk-Ins

This is an outdoor overnight camping event.  Participants need to bring their own tent and camping equipment.     

BSA Medical forms A/B will be required.
