Event: Challenge the Trail Virtual Hiking Challenge, hosted by Wichita Lodge 35, Northwest Texas Council

Registration: Opens March 1 to June 1, 2027

Challenge dates: May 1 through October 31, 2027

Cost: $40 per participant, including all four patches and shipping. Each family member pays $40.

Who can participate: Scouts, adults, families, and community members. Scouting membership is not required.

Challenge: Complete 177.6 miles on the honor system. Late registrants can count completed miles from May 1 onward.

Refunds and patches:

Cancellation requests received through April 1, 2027, at 11:59 p.m. Central will receive a full $40 refund (minus credit card processing fee) as long as registration is canceled and no patches are shipped.

Beginning April 2, registrations are nonrefundable, including registrations purchased after that date. Paid participants still receive all four patches even if they do not finish.

Finishers receive their patches after completing the challenge. Paid nonfinishers receive theirs after the challenge ends.
