Full Throttle - Sept (Strake)

Full Throttle
Full Throttle is a weekend event for troops, crews, and ships. Scouts spend a half-day participating in program areas and a half-day taking a merit badge class. The camp staff provides the program leadership, supported by the unit leaders. Units can camp for the weekend.
Visit the event webpage, https://shacbsa.org/full-throttle, for the leader's guide, important information, and what to bring. Announcements, late-breaking information will be posted at the top of the event page.

Volunteers: Merit badge counselors are needed for a successful event. Every troop must provide at least one merit badge counselor.
Class Schedules: Merit badge classes will open a few weeks before the event and after we have recruited merit badge counselors and program volunteers. An email will be sent before class registration opens, and an update will be posted at the top of the Full Throttle webpage.
Registering: When prompted, we recommend creating an account and logging in (versus registering as a guest).
Troop Access: The Scoutmaster, committee chair, and person who registers the troop as access to edit and update the registration and pull reports.
FOS goals: Units that met their 2025 FOS goal by 3/31/25 receive a 50% discount off the Scout's registration fee. Before registering, request a discount code to use to receive the discount. Do not pay in full as refunds will not be issued.
Camperships are available to Scouts in need. Before registering, complete a campership application. There is a limit to the number of camperships that will be awarded to Scouts in the same unit annually. Do not pay in full as refunds will not be issued.
Program areas: Scouts can participate in • two 1.5-hour program areas and • one 4-hour merit badge. Initially, sign up Scouts for only one merit badge and two program areas so we can ensure we have a program for every Scout. On the Friday of the event, schedules can be edited to alllow Scouts to sign up for a second merit badge class or a full day of program. When Scouts are not participating in a program area or merit badge class, the unit leadership is responsible for supervision.
