Beyond the Badge classes: Have you completed the Horsemanship Merit Badge? Would you like to hone your skills a bit more? Well, it’s time to sign up for our new program, Beyond the Badge! The Beyond the Badge program allows scouts to pick up right where they left off, back in the saddle. This program is riding focused. Once our scouts have learned the basics from the merit badge, they will get a chance to learn what horses can really do. This program focuses on riders gaining confidence in the saddle while also learning what it takes to become a true horseman/horsewoman. You will walk, trot, lope, learn your leads, and how to conduct yourself from the saddle. You will learn how to be a partner with your horse and together will accomplish tasks that would be seen on any working ranch across the country. So saddle up and get ready to go Beyond the Badge! Limited to 12 riders with a maximum number of 4 adults permitted per class. This is a day long class. The Beyond the Badge fee is $100 per participant.
Class Requirements/Information for Beyond the Badge:
- Completion of the Horsemanship Merit Badge is a requirement for taking this course. Youth participants MUST bring printed proof of completion of the Horsemanship Merit Badge with them.
