2025 Aquatics Trainings

Swim and Water Rescue Training

This training is designed for troop leaders who want to take their unit out swimming. Skills covered will include rescues with improvised materials, as well as practice administering swim tests.

Option 1: May 9 -10, 2025

• Location: Camp Wisdom, 6400 W. Red Bird Lane, Dallas, TX
• Check-in: Starts Friday, May 9 at 6:00 p.m. in the Leadership Center
• Event Time: Friday, May 9 at 6:00 p.m. - Saturday, May 10 at 7 p.m.
• Registration Closes: Friday, May 2 at 11:00 p.m.
• Cost: $50 (meals not provided)
• Please bring your own snacks and gatorade for this course as you will need it for energy. 

Option 2: August 23, 2025

• Location: Camp Constantin, 3003 Park Road 36, Graford, TX 76449
• Check-In: Starts Saturday, August 23, at 8:00 a.m.in the Dining Hall
• Event Time: Saturday, August 23, from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
• Registration Closes: Friday, August 15, at 11:00 p.m.
• Cost: $60 (breakfast and lunch provided)

Paddle Craft and Canoe Instructor Training

We are offering an adult Paddle Craft Safety Course and Canoe Instructor Training at Trevor Rees-Jones Scout Camp. This will be a weekend course and includes both trainings. This is a National BSA course that includes adult training in the skills required to teach the Canoeing Merit Badge and lead float trips.

Paddle Craft Safety Training: May 16-17, 2025

• Check-in: Friday at 6:00 p.m.
• Class runs: Saturday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
• Spring session is $60 (includes Saturday lunch )
• Registration closes: Monday, May 12 at 11:00 p.m.
• Location: Trevor Rees-Jones Scout Camp, 11217 FM 2970, Athens, TX 75751

Paddle Craft Safety & Canoe Instructor Training: September 19-21, 2025

• Check-in: Friday at 6:00 p.m.
• Class starts: Friday at 7:00 p.m.
• Check-out will be upon the completion of the course on Sunday
• Fall session is $70 (includes Saturday breakfast, lunch, and dinner and Sunday breakfast and lunch)     
• Registration closes: Monday, September 15 at 11:00 p.m.
• Location: Trevor Rees-Jones Scout Camp, 11217 FM 2970, Athens, TX 75751

• Registration deadlines: Once registration closes, we will not be able make any adds. This is the deadline to register, update/change participant information, and complete payment. Late additions/substituions or walk-ins cannot be accommodated.
