Come join us for a fun-filled weekend at "beautiful" Camp James Ray as you experience a Camporee hosted by Texoma Valley! This years theme will be Klondike Derby ‘Rush for Gold’!

What is a Klondike Derby?

A Klondike derby is a Scouts BSA Winter Skills and Camping event that uses Klondike Gold Rush themes to complete a sled racecourse made up of activity stations. It involves camping overnight and Camporee style competitions, where Scouts BSA Troops have Patrols compete against each other. This is a great outdoor opportunity for all Scouts to showcase their Teamwork, Leadership, and Scouting skills! Units are encouraged to cook their dinner with Dutch ovens or over the Campfire. We look forward to a fun cold weather event!

Webelos and Arrow of Light dens and their leaders are encouraged to partner with a Scouts BSA troop. Webelos & Arrow of Light dens must have two-deep leadership with one leader being BALOO trained. If a Webelos/Arrow of Light scout is not attending with a den, they must have a parent present with them. Registration closes Wednesday, March 20 at 11:00 pm. Unit check-in begins at 6:00 pm on Friday, March 22.

  • Event Dates: March 22 - 24
  • Check-in time: 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 22
  • Check-out time: 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 24
  • Cost: $15 per Scout/Adult
  • Registration Closes: Wednesday, March 20 at 11:00 p.m.
    This is the deadline for registration, changes, and payment to be completed. Late additions/substitutions or walk-ins cannot be accommodated.
  • Cancellations: All cancellations must follow the Circle Ten Council Cancellation & Refund Policy (see under Attachments)

Information Required During Registration:

  • Unit type and number
  • First and last name, gender
  • Phone and email address (adults only)
  • Emergency contact name, phone number, relationship to attendee
  • Alleriges, dietary restrictions, medical concerns
  • If you will be camping both nights

Documents Required at Check-In:

  • Unit Roster (downloaded from my.scouting.org)
  • Annual Medical Health Record AB
