Chemistry Association Merit Badge Day

Who: The UT Dallas Chemistry Student Association is hosting an event to provide ScoutsBSA members the opportunity to earn their Chemistry Merit Badge.

What: Scouts will cycle through three rotations of active learning. They will experience an in-person lecture component of learning how chemistry affects the world we live in, laboratory demonstrations in a real college chemistry lab, and speak to established chemists at UT Dallas who have a lot of knowledge and experience in the field.

*Lunch, patch, and goggles provided by the UT Dallas Chemistry Student Association.*

When: Saturday, May 5th. Check-in begins at 8:30am and the event ends at 4:00pm.

Where: This event will take place at UTD in rooms SLC 1.302, SLC 1.205, SLC 2.202, SLC 2.203. Lunch will be served in the Student Union Faculty Dining Hall

Why: This event provides Scouts the ability to participate in chemical demonstrations and learn how chemistry interacts with their day-to-day life. UT Dallas has amazing facilities that can be used to engage and inspire prospective college students in both the fun demonstrations and by talking to real Chemists about possible careers in this field of science. 

***All Participants must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes to be allowed into the Chemistry Lab.***
