Last night, Joe Scout, the SPL of Troop 123, received an email
from his father, who is also his Scoutmaster:

Joe,
You are receiving this email because I believe I am about to be
taken over by an alien.
As you know, I work in a research lab. I have never told you
what I have been researching, but that changes now.
Some history: At some time in the past…we’re not exactly sure
when…aliens came to Earth. These aliens can take over the mind
of humans and control them over long distances. A human who is
controlled can allow the aliens to take over other humans with
only a touch. The good news is that the aliens cannot read the
minds of their targets…only control their body. It seems that
there is a limit to the aliens’ control, as the controlled
humans can only walk at a slow pace.
We have discovered a way to free a human from alien control. We
have been able to produce a limited supply of the cure. We lured
a controlled human to our lab in order to test it, and it
worked! Unfortunately, the aliens learned of our research and
sent a horde of those under their control to take us over. They
are breaking in as I write this email, and I fear it will not be
long until we are all compromised.
You and our troop are the only ones I can count on. Frankly, I
don’t know if anyone else will believe this is happening, but I
know you will. I also have a plan:
First, you will need to use your navigation skills to get to the
lab. Next, you will have to bypass the security system, and
retrieve the cure. Escape from the lab with the cure and find
our scientists and cure them. We will then be able to mass
produce the cure and prevent the aliens from taking over the
world!
The world is counting on you. I’m sure that your orienteering,
GPS, knot tying skills and your knowledge of building camp
gadgets will make it possible for you to be successful.
